This project aimed to design the lighting for the staircase where the stunning skeleton of a whale is displayed.
The idea was to create an absorbing space that recreated the feeling that the whale was swimming in the sea. The surrounding walls were washed with a blue light and dynamic effects were programmed to alter its intensity. Ceiling spotlights varying in intensity projected dynamic shadows of the whale’s skeleton on the walls.
